Job Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Longview, TX . This role is focused exclusively on inpatient GI coverage , working collaboratively with a gastroenterologist to manage the inpatient GI service. The APP will play a key role in evaluating consults, rounding on patients, and supporting continuity of care in a hospital-based setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate and manage initial ER and floor consults for gastroenterology patients
* Perform daily inpatient rounding on GI patients
* Collaborate closely with the gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive inpatient GI coverage
* Assess and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
* Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
* Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams
