Job Details

Position Title: Firefighter; Reports to: Watch Commander; Division: Airport Operations - RFFS Grade; Department: Rescue Firefighting Service (RFFS).

Job Purpose

The job purpose of an aviation firefighter is to perform rescue and firefighting techniques and tactics to ensure safety and compliance with international and national standards, such as those set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This role involves responding to emergencies at an airport, ensuring the operational readiness of firefighting equipment and vehicles, and conducting routine inspections and maintenance. Additionally, aviation firefighters are responsible for managing risks, participating in training and development programs, and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance emergency preparedness and ensure a prompt response to incidents.
