Fire Safety Technical Lead

JobPurposeFireSafetyTechnicalLead Toprovidestrategicandoperationaltechnicalleadershiponfiresafety,fireengineering,andassociatedbuildingsafetyrisksacrosstheCouncilshousingportfolio. ThepostholdersupportstheCouncil,asAccountablePersonandPrincipalAccountablePersonforitsHigher-RiskBuildings(HRBs),byprovidingspecialisttechnicaladvice,assurance,andoversightinrelationtofiresafetycompliance,designstandards,refurbishmentactivities,fireprotectionsystems,contractorperformance,andincidentinvestigation. Theroleprovidesindependenttechnicalassuranceinrelationtofireandbuildingsafetyrisks,supportsthedevelopmentofsafesystemsofwork,contributestoincidentmanagement,andensurestechnicalcompliancewithrelevantfiresafety,buildingsafety,andhealthandsafetylegislation. Theroledoesnotordinarilyholdprimaryoperationalresponsibilityforbuilding-levelriskmanagement,whichremainswiththeBuildingSafetyManagementfunction.
