Environmental Protection Specialist

Summary This position is located in Big Cypress National Preserve, in the Resource Management Division. Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for managing compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other federal environmental legislation. The incumbent manages the production of NEPA documents and functions as the overall compliance coordinator managing all aspects of the compliance process for the preserve. The incumbent participates in formulating recommendations to the responsible management officials on the use, management and development of park resources. In fulfilling this role, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation of plans, reports, position papers, policy statements and memorandums. Prepares and presents professional oral or written briefings on environmental issues to the supervisor, superintendent, and/or regional staff.
