ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ), NUC WELDING ENGR & WELDER QUAL BRANCH (Code 138.1), Welding Engineering Division (Code 138), Quality Assurance Office (Code 130) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will ensure that the concepts/work practices and philosophy of reactor plant work are fully implemented. You will develop and maintain work documents, welding requirements, and test specifications for various activities. You will organize and prepare written technical documents for use by personnel performing nuclear repairs. You will provide assistance to prime contractors including selecting or qualifying welding procedures for methods or repair work and determining material, administrative and quality requirements. You will qualify welders and assist in the preparation of work instructions.
