Purpose of Role
The Engineering Maintenance Foreman fulfils a tactical guidance role to oversee subordinates, providing guidance and support to carry out maintenance requirements in the workplace and apply a best practice approach to equipment maintenance within the specific area of responsibility.
Role Context
Operational Management
- Oversee subordinates, coordinate, and carry out proactive and reactive maintenance in the workplace to ensure equipment availability and safe production continuity and legal compliance.
- Legal responsibility in terms of 2.9.2 appointment of the MHSA.
- Cost management and control.
- Working knowledge of implementing maintenance strategies and root cause analysis and RCM principles.
- Working knowledge of SHEQ standards and legislation.
