Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Performs skilled work in the control and suppression of fires.
- Provides medical care within level of proficiency and transports sick or injured persons to medical facilities.
- Drives, operates and performs routine maintenance, on various fire apparatus.
- Operates and maintains medical equipment.
- Performs physically hazardous and mentally stressful tasks under adverse conditions.
- Participates in fire safety inspections; training, fire station, fire extinguishers and equipment maintenance, plant education programs, and other plant safety programs or projects as may be assigned.
- Works on a 24-hour shift rotation, 16 hours paid, 8 hours bunk time. If called out during bunk time, employee will receive overtime pay at one and a half their normal rate of pay. If call out time during bunk time exceeds 3.5 hours, pay will be for the full 8 hours of bunk time.
