Job Description
Overview
In a team environment and under the direction of the Manager, Maintenance Services, the Diesel Mechanic performs journeyperson level mechanical work on natural gas and diesel generator sets as well as associated support equipment including pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lubricating oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, and other mechanical equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for the routine maintenance as set out by the manufacturer and the Corporation's CMMS program, as well as conduct minor and major overhauls associated with the operation of two (2) large natural gas generator sets in Inuvik. This role also involves working on other diesel engines such as Wartsila, Detroit, Volvo, John Deere EMD and CAT engines throughout the Corporation. This position includes the responsibility of routine mechanical maintenance on the wind turbine including inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems.
