Job status: Permanent 0.6 FTE (45 hours bi‑weekly)
Compensation: $29.63/hour (aligned with Grid Level 19 of HEABC Facilities Wage Schedule)

Overview

This role supports the Vancouver Hospice by creating and serving safe, nutritious meals that uphold the organization’s values of compassion, collaboration, and care, while providing an open and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve hot meals for 15‑50 people.
• Maintain a warm and inviting presence and be available to interact with families, colleagues, and volunteers.
• Follow daily menu plans and adapt to changes in servings or dietary needs.
• Defrost, cook, and prepare foods (soups, sauces, salads, fish, poultry, meats, desserts, cookies) and prepare items for freezing.
