CNC Setup Technician — Multi‑Axis & Rotary Transfer

Level: Mid‑to‑Senior | Reports to: Production Manager

You start by opening a fresh set of prints and setup sheets. You map out datums, check GD&T callouts, load the program, mount and preset tools, and dial in work offsets. With the machine staged, you run a careful dry run in single‑block to validate clearances and tool paths. The first piece comes off, and you move straight into inspection—micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages, optical comparator, and CMM confirm that the part matches the drawing. Only when it’s right do you hand the process to operators, coaching them on loading, offsets, and in‑process checks.
