CNC Setup Operator
The CNC Setup Operator sets up, operates, programs, and troubleshoots CNC machining equipment to produce precision, tight-tolerance components.
This role requires strong blueprint reading, quality inspection experience, hands-on machine setup ability, and the ability to write programs,
make offsets, and complete minor program edits without relying on a dedicated programmer.
CNC Setup Operator Responsibilities
- CNC mills, lathes, turning centers, VMCs, and HMCs are set up and operated for production.
- Tooling, fixtures, vises, chucks, and work holding are installed and qualified.
- Blueprints, GD&T callouts, customer specifications, and work instructions are interpreted.
- First-piece and in-process inspections are completed to verify tight-tolerance requirements.
