Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-precision components used in aircraft and related systems. The machinist works from technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, ensuring that parts meet strict standards for quality and precision. Unlike a machine operator, the CNC Machinist has advanced skills in machine setup and troubleshooting. They collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to optimize production processes and maintain high accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Program (if required), set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and technical documents to determine machining operations, tooling requirements, and part dimensions.
