Overview
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will deliver advanced nursing care and support the nursing team within the chosen specialty. The CNS acts as a clinical resource, leader, educator, and consultant to ensure quality patient care and continuous improvement of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical care and act as shift leader.
- Coordinate and deliver competent nursing care during shifts.
- Support and supervise less experienced staff, precept new staff and facilitate clinical teaching.
- Serve as a resource for expert knowledge and act as a source of consultation.
- Conduct research, develop and review best‑practice protocols in the specialty.
- Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals and maintain optimal staffing.
