CHESS District Wide Coordinator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Responsible for advising and overseeing the activities of the chess team. The chess team is open to any academically qualified student grades 9-12. The Chess Team holds frequent matches to prepare for state-wide tournaments which are held throughout the school year. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate schedules for practices and tournaments Act as a substitute instructor as needed Direct and coordinate instructors at larger programs Play a pivotal role in ensuring program-wide and individual training standards are achieved Coordinate a system of regular communication with our instructors Keep a regular communication schedule with your coordinators Coordinate tournament application, fees, transportation, etc. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of the rules and game of chess Excellent organizational ability Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with stu...
