Job Description
GFL is looking for a Full-Time Chemical Technician for the afternoon shift to help support our operations in Hamilton, ON. As a Chemical Technician, your primary role is to sort and repack chemical hazardous waste within the facility. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor and is represented by the Teamsters Local Union No. 879.
Key Responsibilities
- Classify, test (i.e. oxidation or pH) and determine chemical groups collected through our household hazardous and industrial waste collection programs
- Bulk inorganic and organic materials for shipment
- Sort and bulk pesticides for shipment
- Conduct inventory counts, label and prepare containers for shipment
- Work safely at all times by adhering to company policies, rules and procedures regarding health and safety
