As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Chaplain ministers, provides spiritual support, counsels and advocates for patients, family members and staff. The incumbent will provide instruction related to Advanced Directives, ethics, issues of spirituality and religion, and bereavement.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Provides direct spiritual support and/or counsel to patients and families in keeping with the patients’/families’ beliefs (includes conducting or arranging for funerals or memorial services where indicated).
2. Communicates effectively with a variety of individuals he/she comes in contact with through active listening and responding.
