Overview

A cashier is responsible for handling transactions and providing excellent customer service in retail stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and other businesses.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly service
• Scan, weigh, and price items accurately
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments
• Give correct change and issue receipts
• Bag or package purchased items as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally
• Verify age-restricted purchases when necessary
• Follow company policies on returns, refunds, and discounts
• Balance cash drawer and report any discrepancies

Qualifications

• Trustworthy and with pleasing personality
