Job Description

A cashier is responsible for processing transactions, handling payments, and providing customer service in a retail or service setting. Key duties include:

• Processing Transactions: Scanning items, entering prices, and calculating totals using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handling Payments: Accepting cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments and providing accurate change.
• Customer Service: Greeting customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues or complaints in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Maintaining a Clean Work Area: Keeping the cashier station organized and ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies.
• Balancing Cash Drawer: Ensuring the register's cash balance is correct at the beginning and end of each shift.
