Job Overview
Analyzes Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/Advanced Planning Scheduling (APS) and procurement of direct and indirect material planning for new products. Supports new product introductions by securing material for pilot runs.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes MRP system and determines orders to be placed to suppliers according to schedule.
- Ensures material availability to meet production schedules.
- Elevates issues to Senior Commodity Buyer and Planner as applicable.
- Maintains direct communication with suppliers and monitors delivery of materials.
- Investigates potential delays and/or quality issues, identifies alternative plans, and elevates when any sourced item will not arrive on time.
