Overview
The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The OSC’s mandate is to provide protection to investors, foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets, and contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk. The Investment Management Division regulates investment funds and structured products, developing new rules and policies within the OSC and Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) to adapt to industry changes. This role supports the Division’s core processes by collecting, analysing and reporting on market data and key financial metrics.
