Responsibilities and Duties
Board members of Jacaranda Rising play an important role in supporting the organization’s mission to empower transition-age young adults (ages 18–24) who are exiting foster care and/or experiencing homelessness. Board members are expected to:
- Commit to a two-year term
- Attend one board meeting each month (approximately 1–1½ hours; meetings are paused during months when board members are busier--aka holiday and summer months)
- Provide guidance, professional insight, and support to the Executive Director throughout the term, as needed
- Serve as ambassadors for Jacaranda Rising within the community
- Attend two annual fundraising events
- Contribute ideas, connections, and resources that help strengthen programs and organizational growth
