Job Summary
Carry out inspection related to pipe work to ensures steel/ piping system quality by conducting inspections, monitoring fabrication and installation, verifying material compliance, and managing quality documentation against project specifications and codes for shipbuilding/ship repair and ship conversion and QA-related activity.
Key Responsibilities- Check material certifications (mill test reports), verify material traceability, inspect welding consumables, and monitor welder qualifications.
- Conduct visual inspections of steel/ piping components, witness NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) and destructive tests, and verify welding procedure.
- Liaise with the ship-owner representative and class surveyors for QA inspection.
- Maintain quality documents, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), inspection reports, material records, and final test reports.
