Summary The Advanced Practice Nurse Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CNA) Chief is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) who is distinguished by educational range, clinical experience, collaborative skills, is the first line supervisor and has administrative responsibility for nurse anesthesia staff. Responsibilities The CRNA Chief practices to the full extent of their education, training, and certification. Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges or scope of practice that correspond with this position and determined locally within the limits of the individual's state license and the local Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) bylaws. The CRNA provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, management, and leadership. The CRNA Chief will have four years of CRNA progressively responsible assignments in clinical, administrative, education and/or research related to CRNA practice, one of which is specialized experience equivalent to the APN (CNA) Ill grade level. ...
