1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

The postholder’s duties will mainly involve, but will not necessarily be limited to:

• Working 1:1 with a pupil with an EHCP, working towards their EHCP outcomes and targets and supporting them both within the classroom, and on a pastoral level.
• Will be managed on a day-to-day basis by The Head of Learning Support/SENDCo.
• Liaising with the SENDCo to complete formal documentation and paperwork regarding the pupil.
• Will oversee targets and plans relating to the pupil.
• Will on occasion work with small groups with a range of students in a flexible but supportive manner within class, in order to help them remain motivated and access their learning.
• Will deliver 1:1 targeted intervention, in line with the students needs. Work to be set by the SENDCo.
• When needed, will act to calm situations and offer a sympathetic ear to students – feeding any concerns that arise through the school’s estab...
